April News

The 4556 Chamber of Commerce is celebrating our 10th year in 2023 so stay tuned for news about our 10th birthday event.

As the 4556 Chamber and not just the Buderim Chamber of Commerce, we move about the 4556 suburbs and encompass all. The rate of growth in business precincts like the Sippy Downs Town Centre and the Forest Glen Village Centre is quite phenomenal. So many new businesses are arriving and it’s proving to be an exciting time to be anywhere on the Sunshine Coast, especially in 4556.

The committee and members love connecting with business owners and learning a little bit more about you, your business, your challenges and your opportunities. We can and do help in many ways. That might be by connecting you with other suppliers or customers, showcasing what you’re doing, inviting you to networking and professional education events, speaking on your behalf to other bodies such as Government Departments & Agencies and other business groups. Membership is free so there’s no impediment to being in the loop and actively or passively involved.

The 4556 Chamber currently has three wonderful sponsors: Harlequin Blinds & Security, Buderim Auto Service and Lauren Biggs Photography. We are keen to wrap our arms around more sponsors and offer them an extended list of benefits. Interested in a conversation about sponsorship, please call our President Donna on 0499 949 590.

April is a busy month with Easter and school holidays and public holidays adding to the juggle for working parents and families. It’s a busier time for some businesses that offer special kid’s holiday programs like Amazeworld (family fun), Bonjour Wellness (teen girls), Sunshine Coast Lightning (netball) and The Green at Tanawha (golf) to name a few. Please support local businesses wherever you can. If you’ve got something special happening in your business in April please let us know.

Our regular monthly coffee morning on the 1st Tuesday of the month is on April 4. It’s at Dutchy’s Bakehouse, 1 Scholars Drive, Sippy Downs. We’ve been to Dutchy’s before and everyone is looking forward to going back to speak with the baker & business owner Dutchy! It’s also a great time in the days before Easter to taste test his hot cross buns.

The coffee morning in May will be on Tuesday 2nd May so please mark your calendar for that one too.

In May we also have two other events for members. Tuesday, May 9 is our next collaborative educational event in conjunction with the School of Business & Creative Industries at the University of the Sunshine Coast and the Institute of Managers & Leaders. Hear from a carefully chosen panel of experts discussing the ‘Top 5 digital skills that business owners need to know”. Get ready to ask your own questions too.

On Wednesday, May 17, it’s your opportunity to talk with us in-depth at our Welcome Event at Harcourts Buderim. These quarterly events are more intimate and deep allowing for more purposeful conversation to achieve deliberate outcomes. Thanks, Brent Mickelberg, Member for Buderim for sponsoring these.

Also, May 10 is when the next Sconetime Buderim event will be held in the Buderim War Memorial Hall. Volunteer or buy tickets for any seniors in your family, friends or neighbourhood and bring them along for a lovely warm morning of conversation, coffee, tea & scones.

Happy Easter & good trading this month.
